GIN lovers got 'into the spirit' at an event in a Greenock hotel.

The GinFall Festival, created by the cocktail events company Social and Cocktail Events, was held at the Tontine on Saturday.

It drew crowds of people keen to sample some of the best gins that Scotland has to offer.

A spokesperson for the organisers told the Tele: “We had a fantastic GinFall event at The Tontine Hotel in 2018 and we were determined to come back to Greenock in 2019.

“GinFall has had a great year so far, with over 8,000 people attending our events all across Scotland and with over 100 gins and gin liqueurs attending the shows.

“We had some great exhibitors at the Greenock GinFall event, including Biggar Gin, Colonsay, Makar, Valentia Gin, Riverside Spirits, Ellis Gin, Garden Shed Gin, Puerto Des Indias, Pilgrims Gin plus some brand new gins and liqueurs, including Ar Baile Gin from Glasgow, Aelder Gin Liqueur and the new gin from the famous Loch Lomond Group called Ben Lomond Gin."

The Greenock event conincided with a major national promotion for the industry.

The organisers said: "The GinFall Greenock event was the official event for International Scottish Gin Day, which is a big thrill for GinFall and hopefully all Inverclyde gin lovers.”
