Ladies of the local legion branch had a grand time getting their hair and make up done for an upcoming charity calender.

Saltcoats, Ardrossan and Stevenston Legion Branch Ladies held the photo shoot at Saltcoats Masonic and spent almost five hours having their hair and makeup done for the photoshoot.

The legion plan to raise funds for the branch by selling the calendars around the area soon.

Models included Josephine Coffey, Anne McDougal, Donna Irvine, Suzanne Fernando, Marian Clark, Isabel Jackson, Mary McDonald, Isabel Savage, Jean Allan, Margaret NcCabe, Agnes Hillcoat, Caroline Dick and April Smith who are all members or have a connection to the military.

Legion member Suzanne Fernando said: “I want to raise isolation, loneliness and age awareness in ex service women/spouses by producing our own Charity Calendar for 2020. It was a fun light hearted photo shoot but raising awareness of these issues too is very important to me. I’ve been overwhelmed by the generosity of our community and I’d like to thank all who offered to donate their time including Carrie Donnelly’s Hair/Make Up Students from Ayrshire College, Kilwinning, John Murphy – Ardrossan Printing Company, Saltcoats Masonic, Elaine at the Melbourne Cafe for providing a delicious buffet, photographers Kevin McMutrie and Alan Watson. Not forgetting our amazing models though as without them none of this would have been possible.”
