A MAN has appeared in court charged with trying to murder a female staff member at a River Clyde Homes office in Greenock town centre.
Peter Cannon, 53, made no plea during a brief hearing which was held in private at the town's sheriff court.
It follows his arrest after an incident at the housing association's offices in Clyde Square on Monday afternoon.
Cannon is charged with attempted murder, assault to severe injury and permanent disfigurement and possession of a blade.
He has been remanded in custody and is due back in court on October 9.
