PUPILS at Inverkip Primary enjoyed an action-packed day as the whole school took part in a workout.

The school is taking part in the ALDI Kit for Schools promotion which is giving 20 primaries the chance to win £20,000 to kick-start a 'health legacy' for their school.

The school's health and wellbeing committee decided it was something they should sign up for as their focus is on physical and mental health.

A total of 260 children took part in the workout with the pupils working out to songs in the gym.

Committee member Beth MacLeod said: "The committee have been setting challenges for the rest of the school to complete on a weekly basis.

“The most recent was the whole school aerobic workout .

“The children participated with great enthusiasm and were even singing away to the music.

“Staff said it was a great session and they would love to continue doing something similar each month.

“It was fabulous to get everyone together and involved in the same thing.”

The Aldi promotion sees shoppers issued with a sticker for every £30 spent in store.

These stickers are added to a school chart, which takes 300 stickers to complete.

Every school who completes one receives an exclusive school sports kit and is entered into the prize draw.

Mrs MacLeod added: “If anyone collects the stickers and are unsure where to hand them in, please think of us at Inverkip Primary.

“Once we fill the chart we will happily pass any extra onto another school.”
