IT was smiles all round as two generations joined together for a special sing-song.

Tiny tots at Aileymill Nursery sang along with their grannies and grandpas as part of their 'grandparent day'.

Legendary local musician Kenny Wilson, from The Wherries, had everyone up on their feet as a party atmosphere spread throughout the nursery.

Kay Anderson, who is a lead practitioner at the nursery, said it was great to see the little ones have fun with their grandparents.

She said: "We had a great time and it was really well attended.

"The grandparents came along to the play room first and joined in lots of activities with the children.

"They made fruit kebabs and planted some seeds, including onion, carrots and leeks, which we'll use to make soup packs once they harvest."

The children and their grandparents then made their way to the gym hall for a special sing song with Kenny.

Kay added: "They sang traditional Scottish songs and sounded fantastic.

"All the grandparents had a great time.

"One of the grandparents said her grandson introduced her to his friends, which was lovely.

"It's nice for grandparents to see what the little ones are doing and learning about each day."
