A PENSIONER had to be cut free from a car following a crash tonight involving four vehicles in the west end of Greenock.
The accident took place on Kelly Street, near to the junction with Brisbane Street, just before 5pm.
A 69-year-old woman had to be cut free from one of the cars involved by the fire service.
She was taken to Inverclyde Royal Hospital for checks but is not thought to have suffered any injuries, nor did any of the other passengers or drivers.
The road was closed for a spell while the emergency services dealt with the incident.
Initially two cars crashed before a third and then a fourth vehicle became involved.
Police say nobody has been charged in connection with the collision.
It was the third crash in just two days following two separate incidents on Tuesday afternoon on Brougham Street and Forsyth Street - both at almost exactly the same time.
A police car was involved in the Brougham Street crash, which happened near to its junction with Patrick Street, and was badly damaged.
