CREATIVE youngsters from across Inverclyde are using heir talents to make sure that needy children have a great Christmas.
Gourock business owner Trishy Gannon ran a competition to find the best winter and festive drawings to be made into greetings cards.
The winning designs will be sold in her shop, No.26 in Kempock Street, with a percentage of the proceeds going to Children in Poverty Inverclyde.
Trishy said: “We had some amazing entries.
"They were all so different and creative that it made for a very tight contest.
“We were delighted with the number of entries and the effort everyone put in.
"Judging was hard but now we have our winners and runners-up."
The runner up in the eight and under category was Millie McClafferty, six.
Millie, who attends St Ninian’s Primary, took inspiration from a nutcracker that her granda had bought and she also included the memorial at Lyle Hill, a Christmas tree and some holly in honour of her sister Hollie.
Millie said: “I was really happy to get a prize, I put a lot of work in.”
Her mum Eleanor said: “We were so excited when we heard she had done so well.”
Winning the category was Emma Marie Perry, eight, who chose her favourite things from winter, including a snowman and snowflakes.
It was a double celebration for the Perry family as her sibling Megan Louise, 10, was named as runner-up in the eight to 12 years category.
Mum Michelle said: “They are both quite artistic and I think the designs were really good.."
Winning the eight to 12 category was Jack McKee, 12.
The Inverclyde Academy pupil said: “I was shocked when I found out I had won but it is really cool seeing my design printed.”
In the 12-16 category the runner-up was Francesca Houston, who featured a fireplace with stockings in her design and the winner was Logan Scott, 13.
Logan, who based his design on the Nightmare Before Christmas, said: “My mum told me about the competition and I decided to do it for fun. I am quite creative and I am always drawing. I was delighted to win because I really didn’t expect it."
Mum Jennifer Irving said: “I thought his design was great, it was something totally different and I am very proud.”
The six designs are now on sale in the No.26 gift shop.
