DETECTIVES are hunting robbers who brandished knives at a man and his girlfriend in his Greenock home before stabbing him and making off with a three-figure sum of cash. 
The terrifying attack happened in Brachelston Street at around 7.20pm on Friday night.
Police say two men carrying blades entered the property of a 41-year-old man who was at home with his partner, aged 34.
The robbers then demanded they hand over money and other items before slashing the male victim on the head and shoulders.
The culprits are said to have left on foot and headed in the direction of Murdieston Street. 
The victim was taken to hospital for treatment and has since been released.
Detectives say the robbers had their faces partially covered with scarves or other clothing. 
They are described as being in their 30s and were wearing baseball caps.
One of the men had on a light-coloured hooded jumper and the other had on a dark top.
Officers believe it was a targeted attack and are appearing for any witnesses or anyone with information that could help their with enquiries to get in touch urgently.
