RESIDENTS at a Greenock care home are set to benefit from the proceeds of a Christmas cracker of a fete.
Staff at Maclehose Court spent months organising the event which took place recently and saw £800 raised to go towards day trips.
The event featured a tombola, home baking, bric a brac and gifts made by the residents including boxes and jars of sweets.
As well as having a chance to browse the stalls and activities and pick up some gifts for Christmas, guests enjoyed tea, coffee, cakes and a chat.
The event raised £800 which will be used throughout the year to take residents on outings.
Myra Johnstone, team leader, said: “We were delighted with how it all went.
"It took a couple of months to get everything ready and it was a real team effort.
“The residents all enjoyed making things for the event and we had a great turnout, it was very busy.
“This is the most we have ever raised.
"We usually manage to raise about £500 so we were delighted when the total was much bigger.
"It will be used to take the residents out and organise events for them throughout the year.
“We would like to thank everyone who came and supported the event and helped us to raise such an amazing amount.”
