GIRLS soared into action at an inter-schools netball challenge.
The event was held at Greenock Sports Centre and was a highly-competitive affair.
The tournament was organised by the Active Schools team and Notre Dame High's sports leadership team officiated.
Claire Munn, of active schools, said: "We have four events throughout the year where different schools play each other.
"The age group is between primary five and primary seven.
"The majority of primary schools here play netball, it's very popular.
"It's a team sport and helps with working together.
"It's also good for players' resilience."
Claire says there is a good local structure in place for players to progress through the ranks of the sport with Clyde Netball Club.
She said: "It provides a really good pathway and has a good junior section."
St Columba's Kilmacolm triumphed at the event while Wemyss Bay were runners up.
The other schools which took part were All Saints, St Patrick's, St Andrew's, Whinhill, Ardgowan, Lady Alice in Greenock, St Francis' and Newark in Port Glasgow, St Ninian's and Moorfoot in Gourock, Kilmacolm and Inverkip primaries.
The next two events will be held on January 31 and March 25.
