THESE youngsters proved they have 'Scot what it takes' after putting on a spectacular school show.

Proud parents joined grandparents for St Michael's Primary School's 'Scots Concert'.

Little P1 pupils opened the show with their rendition of the song 'Three Craws'.

Janet Russell, depute head teacher, said the concert was a great way for the children to celebrate the culture of their country.

She said: "It's a great opportunity for the whole school to come together and celebrate our Scottish culture through singing and dancing.

"Every class has the chance to show what they have been learning.

"I'm particularly proud of the country dancers, who recently came second at the Inverclyde Music Festival.

"They worked really hard practising during their lunch breaks and also after school."

The audience tapped their feet and clapped their hands along with the P2 class who relished the spotlight as they sang 'Sam the Skull'.

The P3 class belted out 'Wee Johnny' while P4 performed 'The New Teacher'.

Pupil Amber Kerr of P7, enjoyed being part of the concert.

She said: "I really enjoyed singing in the show, it was good fun."

The school's country dancers dazzled and P5/4 kept the party atmosphere going with their rendition of '500 miles'.

Star performers from P5 sang 'Waverley Polka' while P6 brought the house down with the 'Jeely Piece' song.

The concert finished in true Scottish style as the P7 classes sang 'I'm on my way', followed by everyone joining in to 'Auld Lang Syne'.
