AN AWARD-winning project for tiny tots is turning their creative talents into works of art.

ARTventurers help parents to spend quality time with their babies and toddlers through arts and crafts.

The local group was founded by Cheryl Gray, who has spent the last four years using her creative talents to help other families.

At one of her last classes before the coronavirus lockdown, some of her youngest recruits had the chance to make a mess at Funworld.

Now during the lockdown she is helping parents at home, in a bid to get everyone through what is a difficult time.

Cheryl said: "We are so so grateful for the messages of support that we have received.

"We'll be back with more ARTventurers fun as soon as we can - and in true Artventurers style we have lots of fun stuff planned whilst our live classes are suspended.

"In the meantime, take care and stay safe everyone."

ARTventurers were among the first organisations to close in a bid to protect their families.

Cheryl started up the messy play classes after giving up her management role in retail to care for her children.

She introduced the award-winning franchise into Inverclyde and has since been nominated for national child care industry awards.

Her sessions run in Greenock Baptist Church and Funworld and she makes regular visits to care homes.

It's hoped they will be back up and running later in the year.
