A PORT singer has hit the right note with neighbours after performing in his garden to entertain everyone stuck indoors.

David Fyfe, 41, usually takes centre stage in pubs, clubs and holiday parks.

But due to the coronavirus crisis he is now performing from home.

David, of Auchendores Avenue, said: "My wife Lorraine suggested that I make a video because she thought it would cheer people up who have to stay in their own homes and don't have any contact with anyone.

"The clip was a song by Lewis Capaldi, but I do a mixture of everything.

"My favourite is country music."

David's neighbour Carrie Dunn, 32, captured his performance on Facebook and it went viral.

Mum-of-two Carrie said: "He's really lifted people's spirits.

"His wife texted us all to ask if it was okay if he sang in the garden and we all thought it was a great idea.

"The houses are in a circle so we can still see each other and it was a great atmosphere.

"There were neighbours out at their front doors, they couldn't see David but they could hear him.

"It was great - he's really good and ended up taking requests."

Carrie who is trying to home school her her son and daughter says it's given everyone a boost.

She said: "My daughter has asthma so I'm trying to think of things to do and also trying to familiarise myself with their schoolwork online.

"We just thought it might give other people an idea of what to do in their street.

"We have a great community spirit up here and have a Facebook page to keep in touch, if people want anything from the shops."

David who lives with his wife and son is thrilled with the good reaction has impromptu performances have received.

He said: "It's been very positive.

"I'm used to singing for people but it's a bit bizarre singing out in the garden."

David's usual venues include the Black Cat, Green Oak, The Exchange, clubs, holiday parks and casinos.

He hopes to stage regular garden performances until he can return to the stage.
