A KIND-hearted personal trainer has gone global after she offered her services for free to fitness fans from Inverclyde to keep them healthy while all local gyms are closed.

Rachel Anderson, who runs her own fitness and yoga coaching business, has created a four-week at home training plan which has been downloaded by people all over the world.

The 23-year-old has created a guide with 20 workouts suitable for all levels of fitness, to help keep people active during the coronavirus lockdown.

The physiotherapy student at Glasgow Caledonian University said: "I just thought I'd try and do my bit to help people in this time of need.

"It's not just for the people who I usually train, it's for anyone who wants to keep their fitness levels up, or even try something new now they may have more time.

"It's all fully accessible and has options to use equipment too to suit everyone's needs.

"I'm hoping it keeps people going during this uncertain time."

The personal trainer, who lives in Inverkip, says a lot of people were worried about how they would keep to a routine so she thought tailored routines would help.

She told the Tele: "Fitness isn't all about just physical health, it includes mental health too.

"In the first 24 hours, over 150 people from all over the world downloaded it.

"I'm hoping people find it useful."

The personal trainer, who usually trains at the Waterfront Leisure Centre, has been praised by many for her kindness.

Her online download pack at rachelandersonfitness.com comes with both a workout guide and technique tips to ensure people are able to complete exercises properly and safely.
