SCOUT leaders have made a special promise to make sure people who can't get out and about have plenty of supplies to see them through the coronavirus lockdown.
The kind team at 5th Greenock and District are collecting prescriptions and shopping for the elderly and those who are self-isolating.
An eight-strong group of uniformed leaders have been running the collection and delivery service - and it's already making a big difference in the community.
The project has been organised by Ashley Rennie, group scout leader for the 5th.
Ashley said: "People feel reassured that there's someone out there to help them - and that's so important at this very uncertain time.
"People get a wee chat on the phone and it ties in with our scouting values, as we're out there helping in the community.
"We're happy to keep going with the service as long as we are able to.
"We've had great feedback from the people we've helped so far.
"It's making a big difference."
Ashley takes phone calls from people who can't get out and about and then the team of leaders go and get the supplies.
Leaders strictly adhere to all infection control guidelines and wear gloves when dropping off the essentials.
Beaver leader Emma McLennan collected some shopping for an elderly couple at Tesco in Greenock yesterday morning.
Emma, who is a chef, said: "It's such an important service, especially for people who have family living far away.
"I really enjoy it and I'm glad that I can make a difference."
