A MURDER bid accused man is today behind bars after appearing in court charged with carrying out an alleged life-threatening stabbing in Port Glasgow.
Connor Duffy, 20, is accused of attacking another man within a ground floor flat on the town's Highholm Street on Monday.
Crown prosecutors say that he repeatedly stabbed the man on the body and did attempt to murder him.
The Telegraph told yesterday how a 21-year-old man was left fighting for his life following an alleged incident at Highholm Street on Monday morning.
He was discovered with serious injuries within a flat and hospital medics later described his condition as critical.
Highholm Street was cordoned off and police maintained a presence at the scene for several hours while detectives and scenes of crime personnel carried out investigations.
Three people were initially arrested — two men aged 20 and 27 and a 25-year-old woman.
Duffy, of Highholm Street, appeared from custody at Paisley Sheriff Court yesterday afternoon.
He made no plea through his defence lawyer, Ellen Macdonald, of the Robert Kerr Partnership, during the petition hearing in private.
The case has been continued for further examination until next week, with Duffy remanded in custody.
