A COMMUNITY campaigner is warning people to be on their guard against a new TV licensing scam.
Tommy Rodger, secretary of Port Glasgow West Community Council, received an email purporting to be from the TV Licensing Authority.
It claimed that his monthly direct debit for his fee had not been received and that he must renew it using an attached link.
Mr Rodger said: "I am aware that from a visit by Fiona Ferry, from Inverclyde Council's trading standards service to a community council meeting, that this was likely to be a scam."
This was confirmed when Tommy contacted TV Licensing to check and now he is urging others to delete any such emails they may receive.
