A PHOTOGRAPHER has turned eco-warrior to help spruce up his home town during the lockdown.

Phil Harvey has used his daily exercise slot to litter pick in Port Glasgow.

The Clyde Photography owner collected at least 12 bags of rubbish including an old washing machine.

Phil, 43, said: "You can't go anywhere else, so I've been going out picking up a bit of litter.

"I just felt with all this free time , we could do a we bit of litter picking, even if it's an hour during exercise.

"I've been lifting litter at Newark Castle.

"People go down there to admire the view then unfortunately leave their litter behind."

Phil has also been clearing rubbish along the cycle track and and areas of Devol.

He also met two little eco-wariors on his travels, Ayra and Harris Vernon, on his travels.

Phil says that he his efforts might encourage other people to lift up litter when they are out and about.

He said: "It's good to get out and do some spring cleaning in your area."
