DETECTIVES are today investigating a 'large' disturbance on a Greenock street which occurred shortly after midnight and resulted in two men being injured.
Police say they received multiple reports of the incident at an outdoor stairwell near 10 Ann Street at around 12.10am this morning.
Two men with laceration injuries were taken to Inverclyde Royal Hospital.
They have since been discharged.
Detective Sergeant Stuart Young, of Greenock CID, said: "It was a large disturbance and appeared to involve two males fighting, with other present.
"We are appealing for information as a number of the reports received from the public were anonymous.
"Officers will also be examining CCTV footage and carrying out door-to-door enquiries."
Information should be passed to the police on the 101 number, or anonymously via Crimestoppers 0800 555 111.
