A WOMAN is accused of causing a disturbance in a Greenock street and then assaulting police while under the influence of alcohol.
Officers were called out to Bank Street on Friday night at 10pm following reports of an incident and they traced the female involved to Inverclyde Royal.
At the hospital, where she was receiving treatment, it is alleged she became aggressive towards the police.
The 26-year-old is now facing charges of police assault, causing a disturbance and she is expected to appear in court.
