UNDERHEUGH Ark is celebrating a £6,000 windfall from The Weirs Trust.
The animal rescue charity says the cash will be used to help the equine side of the rescue.
It will help to support horses, ponies and donkeys.
The charity said: "This grant has come at a difficult time for us as our vet costs are mounting and we are so grateful for the support of The Weirs Trust, who felt we were a rescue that they were happy to help.
"We have had a large vet bill for over £2,500 and this grant has allowed us to think beyond the bill and feel safe for many months to come and be in the position to help more animals at risk."
