BOWLS competitions in Inverclyde have been cancelled for the season, it has been announced.
Greens were recently given permission to reopen as lockdown measures were eased, but officials say that competitive tournaments will not take place.
The Greenock & District Bowls Association board of directors have decided to cancel all competitions for season 2020.
A spokesperson said: "While we are disappointed that we won’t be able to organise any bowling for this year, the health and safety of everyone remains our main priority.
"We wish the bowling community well and look forward to 2021 when things hopefully return to some sort of normality and we can get back to competitive bowling."
