THE council is launching a new campaign to attract ideas to increase cycling and walking across Inverclyde amid Covid-19 restrictions.

The local authority has teamed up with Sustrans Scotland to create a new website where people can highlight locations and set out suggestions about how they could be improved.

Councillor Michael McCormick said: "While the physical distancing measures are in place it is important that we are all supported to maintain that essential distance to protect ourselves and others from the coronavirus.

“It is important that residents take the time to let us know about locations and issues.

"These can then be reviewed by our roads team and, if there is an opportunity to bid for national funds, we can try to address the issues raised."
