INVERCLYDE'S MSP Stuart McMillan has praised hundreds of local residents who have joined volunteering schemes during the pandemic.
Over 500 people have signed up to volunteer with both the British Red Cross and Volunteer Scotland.
While not all volunteers have been called upon, many have started to deliver food parcels, ensure essential supplies and medicines reach vulnerable people and phone those who need assistance or companionship.
Mr McMillan said: “The hundreds of people in Inverclyde who have volunteered to help are a real credit to their area.
"Inverclyde really is a community that cares."
