A BEAUTY therapist marked the 25th birthday of her business by helping people during the coronavirus crisis.

Julie Terrey, who owns Sensations Health and Beauty, has been operating since her late twenties and not even coronavirus can slow her down.

With her business and proper celebrations on hold, the mum-of-two has been busy running competitions for local heroes and delivering food parcels to vulnerable clients.

Julie said: "It's been very odd not visiting clients at the moment as some of them have actually become good friends.

"I had various plans of how to mark the milestone, but I am sure when the time is right we will be able to celebrate again."

Julie, who lives in Inverkip with husband Robin and children Rebecca and Callum, ran a giveaway for key workers where they could win a magnum of champagne plus treatments.

She has also referred clients who are shielding to Compassionate Inverclyde and Branchton Community Centre.

Julie told the Tele: "My clients mean a lot to me as I have known some of them for years.

"I don't want to lose contact so have still been keeping in touch with many of them just to see how they are.

"At the beginning of lockdown, I delivered food parcels to those who couldn't get out for all sorts of reasons."

Before lockdown, Julie's most recent addition to her services, pamper parties, were gaining momentum.

She said: "The pamper parties were something I started offering about five years ago and they've really taken off.

"I operate myself but at the parties I've actually taken on a young girl, Isla Rodgers, to help me.

"Everyone seems to really enjoy them."

The beauty and holistic therapist was also working with nursing homes before lockdown, offering her services to places like Quarriers.

The 47-year-old said: "I'm really grateful for the support my business has had over the years and I'm really looking forward to getting back to work when this is all over."
