PATROLS will be taking place this weekend to deter rule-breaking youngsters ignoring lockdown restrictions.

Trouble spots will be under scrutiny after a series of open air gatherings in recent weeks.

Around 50 young people congregated at Gourock's Tower Hill last weekend and the police arrived, issued warnings and seized a large amount of alcohol.

British Transport Police also dispersed a group at Greenock West Station who were attempting to make their way down to Gourock.

Any large gatherings can be reported to police on 101.
