A BRAVE Greenock woman raised more than double her target after shaving her head for the Ardgowan Hospice in memory of her late mother-in-law.
Kind-hearted Caroline McAnespie has collected over £1,900 for the charity.
She said: “I wanted to do something to raise money for the hospice because my mother in law passed away at the end of last year from cancer.
“She just loved the place and the work they did so I wanted to do something in her honour and to raise some money for them.
“I decided to shave my head because I had thought about the fact she had lost her hair and she didn’t have a choice in that."
Caroline, who is a manager at Webhelp in Greenock, set an original target of £800 which was quickly surpassed, and she says friends and family have been so supportive of her efforts.
She said: “The support was very overwhelming."
Caroline is also donating her hair to the Little Princess Trust, which makes wigs for children undergoing cancer treatment.
