Celtic and Rangers target Ivan Toney is wanted by Premier League outfit Watford, according to a report.
The prolific striker has a £15million price tag on his head, which would be out of the question for either side of the Old Firm to pay, despite their interest. Watford boss Nigel Pearson, however, could be in a position to splash the cash and Toney fits the bill for a new hitman.
Posh chief Barry Fry claims the striker WILL be sold for as close to that amount as possible, with the club confident they can do a deal with the player out of contract next summer.
Fry had previously claimed both Celtic and Gers were hoping to land Toney but Peterborough Telegraph say the Hornets are in pole position.
Watford currently sit 16th in the Premier League table, dangerously close to the relegation trio spots. But the Telegraph report they could still make a move for Toney even if they fall into the Championship. And their place in English football's second tier would still be a step-up for Toney who currently plies his trade in League One.
Herald and Times Sport exclusively told you last week that neither Celtic nor Rangers had been in contact with Toney or his representatives over any potential move.
