WITH the Clydeside Singers meetings sadly silenced by the coronavirus outbreak members have been reflecting on their favourite 2019 memories online.

Highlights of the last year for the group included taking home a special award at the Inverclyde Inspiration Awards.

They also held a fundraiser in the 175 Club in Greenock and a patriotic party for St Andrew's Day in Morrisons.

The group visited lots of care homes across Inverclyde, with themed events such as Western and pirate days.

They were also finalists in the Tele's live music category at our Community Champion Awards.

Husband and wife duo, Mary and Alan Greig, have been posting a 'song a day' for the group to enjoy during lockdown.

They have also used video chat platform Zoom to conduct virtual rehearsals.

This year is the 10th anniversary of the singing group, so to celebrate the Tele today features some of their favourite photographs to match memories of their past performances.

Founder Mary says the group can't wait to get back out and about again when it is safe.

She said: "If there was ever a need for music therapy whilst singing for fun, it's now.

"We've created a wee self-preservation song list which is a mixture of past performances and new ones recorded virtually.

"It's for all singers, care homes, hospitals and sheltered accommodation to enjoy."
