YOUTH Connections has launched its super summer online programme.

The premises in Burns Square is currently under refurbishment and hasn't been open to the public for almost six months.

Staff are delivering leaflets to communities across Larkfield and the Gibshill area to promote online services.

Highlights include a family arts and crafts project with Alec Galloway.

It is entitled Time Capsule and will be a snapshot of this current moment in time and people could create works that reflect their experiences. selected work at the end of the project will be put in a box to be sealed up for future generations to open and have an insight into what we all went through in 2020.

The sessions will include a variety of techniques -drawing, painting and craft-based activity such as making mock stained-glass windows to be displayed in their own windows at home.

We will also look at making little pieces of jewellery and adornments to wear and try our best to recycle old materials that are laying around the house or can be collected outside such as flowers, leaves, shells, stones and pebbles.

Another family event is Storytelling and More by Paul Bristow.

Paul shares superhero stories, spooky tales, myths, legends and more in our weekly storytime - and also helps you create and make your own stories and pictures.

Each week, people will all work together on a story which will be published online later in the year.
