A NEW poll suggests a majority of Inverclyde would now vote for independence.

The Panelbase research projected that 55-60 per cent of the district would vote in favour.

SNP councillor Chris McEleny has welcomed the findings.

He said: "From the conversations I am having, more and more people are not happy with the way Boris Johnson has treated Scotland.

"They want a choice on the big decisions that will impact our lives for decades to come.

"I think the polling data reflects that view."
