A HIGH profile building maintenance company has stepped in to help out Greenock tenants.

Home Fix Scotland (HFS) will now be assisting Cloch Housing Association with emergency repairs after the association's own contractor unexpectedly withdrew its support.

HFS, which is part of the River Clyde Homes group, will provide the service until Cloch awards a new contract.

A fleet of HFS vehicles is on hand to help the team provide emergency support to tenants.

Mark Robson, managing director of Home Fix Scotland, said: "We are pleased that we are in a position to assist Cloch in these difficult times.

"We firmly believe that by working in partnership we can continue to support the Inverclyde community."

Paul McVey, Cloch director, says the change will be 'seamless' for tenants.

He added: "The decision taken by our maintenance contractor was a disappointing one, especially in the middle of lockdown.

"We are delighted that we can continue to operate our emergency service with a local alternative in Home Fix Scotland.

"Our new maintenance contractor will be announced in due course following a robust tender process."

Established in 2016, HFS works with housing associations, public sector organisations and private landlords on planned maintenance and property investment projects, grounds maintenance and other property related services.
