A GREENOCK man has been charged with robbing a wheelchair-bound woman.

Stephen Moodie is accused of restraining the female in her chair and stealing two bank cards from her.

Prosecutors say Moodie, 39, placed his hand under her clothing and inside her bra in order to remove the cards.

The alleged robbery is said to have occurred within a ground floor flat on Bank Street on Monday.

Moodie, of Bow Road, appeared at Greenock Sheriff Court from custody and made no plea through lawyer David Tod.

He has been remanded in custody and the case is due to call again next week.
