INVERCLYDE churches will be able to open for public worship from Wednesday.
Numbers will be strictly limited, singing and chanting will be limited, and social distancing will have to be strictly observed at all times.
Restrictions on how many people can attend funeral and wedding services will also be eased.
Father Tom Boyle, of St Mary's in Patrick Street, said: "We await advice from the Bishops and the priests of the deanery will be meeting to discuss how we go forward with this safely and in an orderly fashion."
