FAMILIES on low incomes are set to get £145 per child to help towards school uniforms for the new term.
Those who qualify for free school meals and applied for a clothing grant last year will automatically receive the cash.
Inverclyde Council has urged parents who have children starting primary one, and those who feel they may qualify for the first time, to apply.
Clothing grants are open to all those eligible for free school meals based on income, with the criteria including those who take home less than £951 in universal credit.
For this year only the local authority is carrying the entitlement over without any need to reapply if you qualified and received a grant last year.
