ELDERLY people are being urged to take advantage of the newly-extended books on wheels scheme.
People who are housebound can get library books delivered to their front door again from Monday, with those who are shielding and people who are over 75 now able to access the service for the first time as well.
Councillor Jim Clocherty said: “Our e-book and e-audio book service has been a great success during the lockdown and these new services make it even easier for people to access our library service from the comfort and safety of their own home."
Books are delivered to any area in Inverclyde.
Anyone who wants to start using the service for the first time should call either Greenock Central Library on 01475 712323, Gourock Library on 712340 or Port Glasgow Library on 715629.
Phone lines are open from 10am–noon, Monday–Friday.
