A GOUROCK salon raised over £300 to purchase self-care products for local frontline staff.

Karma Beauty and Style Bar in Gourock wanted to give Inverclyde Royal Hospital staff and local carers a treat.

Owner Jill Bryce launched an appeal to raise money for items such as soothing skin balms, hand creams, bath products and face creams to send to hard working staff.

She said: "I love the thought of making a wee difference to these people’s days as it's a tough time.

"It’s with so much thanks to all of our amazing staff and clients that we have been able to do just that.

"People just keep giving, it’s really lovely."

Jill also arranged for any free or promotional products earned from the order to go straight to the healthcare heroes.

Almost 30 people contributed to the cause, allowing the salon to make up hundreds of goodie bags to be donated all over Inverclyde.

Jill added: "I'm making sure each time I donate I'm giving them somewhere new, to ensure they are shared all over the place.

"I'll keep doing it until this is all over.

"I just want them to know we are thinking about them and we wanted to thank them for the amazing job that they are doing."
