A PLAYPARK that has served visitors to Lunderston Bay for more than 20 years has been condemned.

The wooden equipment had become rotten and unsafe over the last couple of years and has now been dismantled.

Mike Holcombe, senior countryside ranger at Clyde Muirshiel Regional Park, said: "I think it was donated by IBM more than 20 years ago.

"It didn't owe us anything, it has served the people of Inverclyde very well."

Mike says there are no plans at present to replace the equipment because of other priorities due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

He said: "Because of Covid we have a massive backlog of things needing done and there is certainly no budget for it."
