A PORT pub and restaurant is the latest to join the UK Government's Eat Out to Help Out scheme.

The Waterwheel will be offering 50 per cent off food and soft drinks Monday to Wednesday for the duration of August.

Pub bosses hope that the offer will encourage people to get out and about and enjoy a bite to eat, which will help reinvigorate the local economy.

Andy Carlill of owners Marston’s, said: "Our pubs are fully COVID-19 assessed, our team members have been trained, and we have all the steps in place for us all to enjoy the pub safely."
