THE M8 Baird Street Overbridge will close for a series of five nights starting today.
Scotland TranServ said the closure will allow them to install expansion joints.
The bridge will close each night from 8 pm to 5 am from Tuesday, August 4 (today) to Sunday, August 9.
Brian Laurie, Scotland TranServ’s Network Bridges Manager, said: “This is an important section of the trunk road network, and as such is used by emergency services, freight, retail and delivery traffic as part of their essential working.
“It is vital that we resurface this area in order to maintain road safety.
“Traffic volumes are still lower than normal, and the programme can therefore be carried out safely and with reduced impact on communities and businesses as they recover at this time.”
Drivers are advised to allow additional times for journeys and local diversions will be in place overnight.
