A MAN is due in court today in connection with the rape of a young woman in a Clydebank lane.
The 21-year-old was formally charged with the offence and is expected to appear at Dumbarton Sheriff Court today.
It comes after we reported that a 23-year-old woman was allegedly raped in the early hours of Saturday morning in a lane off Alexander Street in the West Dunbartonshire town.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: "Police Scotland can confirm that a 21-year-old man has been charged in connection with a serious sexual assault in Clydebank on a 23-year old woman in the early hours of Saturday, August, in a lane off Alexander Street in the town.
"He is due to appear at Dumbarton Sheriff Court on Tuesday, August 4."
