Super staff at Bishopton's Co-Op used the power of fundraising to raise £800 for a mental health charity.

The local supermarket on Greenock Road held a day of family fun with a superhero twist to raise vital funds for their charity partner, Scottish Association for Mental Health (SAMH).

Staff members Robyn Hay, Kieran Brown, Rhiannon Girvan, Jamie Fife and Allison Devine joined store manager, Stewart Freeman, for the afternoon of fun.

Stewart said: "Our fundraising plans were all halted this year due to COVID-19, so we decided to try pick things up again now restrictions are lifting and have the day outdoors.

"We had Allison in a cage and youngsters had to find the token to get her out, she's a good laugh and always up for anything.

"Back in March we were supposed to hold a tombola, so we had prizes from local businesses there so we held a raffle and also gave goodie bags to the kids who came along.

"It was a mixture of regular customers and local families and we were really fortunate with the weather.

"Thanks to everyone who donated."

The Co-Op are hoping to hold similar events in the future in aid of SAMH, with manager Stewart saying to keep an eye in the shop for details.
