A WEST End pub has taken to Twitter to call out Covid-19 deniers after staff received a deluge of messages.

The Thornwood Bar went viral earlier after it asked a punter to leave as they could not give their bartender an email address, home address, mobile number or home number.

The Dumbarton Road staple was widely praised on social media for the stance, later posting they don't have time for "shambling when lives and livelihoods count".

Some users have tried to hit back at the bar today, however, calling Covid-19 a hoax and accusing Test and Protect of being an infringement on human rights.

Others even went so far as to claim "no lives had been lost" due to the virus, which has so far claimed thousands of Scots.

Staff at the bar wasted little time in taking down the trolls and hit back at their claims.

When one user claimed the virus was a hoax and "we had been made to clap for NHS staff", the Thornwood replied: "On two occasions we let our three year old bang pots and pans. Now I find out we’ve been duped. Sake man."

Later, when it was claimed it was lockdown which had killed people and not the virus, staff responded: "Nobody has ever had Covid 19. Twitter. Today."

We told earlier of the bar's stance towards Covid-19 safety.

In a tweet, staff said: "At least we’ve got the off sales ready to go when we collectively f**k this right up eh!
