A GREENOCK man is warning other Tele readers to be on their guard over a scam telephone call.
He received a call from a foreign country on Monday with the person on the other end of the line claiming to be from trading standards.
They told him he was due a refund for bank charges and that a cheque would be issued if he could provide his account details.
The man saw through the bogus call and immediately ended the call.
He said: "I am just concerned that a vulnerable person could be taken in by these folk, so I thought I would call the Tele to get the word out."
