PEOPLE in Inverclyde are being urged to ensure they are registered to vote in the upcoming elections.

The council and Electoral Commission are urging local residents to make sure their electoral registration details are up to date.

The Electoral Registration Officer will be getting in touch with every household to check that the electoral register is up to date.

Local authority leader Stephen McCabe said: “The Scottish Parliament elections take place in May 2021, so this is an important opportunity for residents to make sure they can vote.”

Kate Crawford of Renfrewshire Valuation Joint Board added: “Residents need to keep an eye out for messages from RVJB so we can make sure we have the right details on the electoral register for every address in Inverclyde and you are able to vote in any forthcoming elections."
