A BUSINESSWOMAN has made a grand return to Gourock and teamed up with another entrepreneur.

Gillian McGilp, who owns Parma Vintage Boutique, hasn't let Covid-19 prevent her from taking steps to kick off trading from Kempock Street again after securing a spot within the Original Artists shop.

The 33-year-old vintage trader has teamed up with Lisa Keogh for the new venture together.

Gillian said: "When I started my own shop down here I was just 19-years-old, so have always looked up to Lisa.

"She is very inspiring with how well her business has flourished over the years."

Gillian closed the shutters on her own store in 2014 as she wanted to turn her focus on raising her young children.

Since then she's turned her focus to her online store and frequently makes use of McGilp's in Gourock to host quarterly 'pop-up shops'.

Gemma Boyce was one of the first people through the door on the day of the grand opening.

Gemma said: "I've been a Parma Vintage customer for years so it's great to be able to pop in now to Original Artists."

Store owner Lisa says she is looking forward to working with Gillian.

She added: "It's turned into a mini-department store almost and it's great to have Gillian back on this award-winning street."
