A FULL search of a bay near Skelmorlie was carried out by lifeboat crews after reports of a stricken yacht.
Volunteer lifeboat crew launched in response to a request from UK Coastguard at 5.15pm on Sunday to attend a small vessel reported to be in difficulty around half a mile offshore off the village.
The lifeboat was soon in the area and an extensive search both of the sea and the shore was undertaken.
RNLI spokesman Alasdair Woods said: "As there was no vessel fitting the description, or any in difficulties to be found, the lifeboat was stood down and returned to station."
