INVERCLYDE Council committee meetings which have been closed to the public during the Covid-19 pandemic are to be made available in future.

Using emergency powers handed down by the Scottish Government, meetings have continued virtually but have been restricted to the committee and just members of the press invited.

In the immediate weeks following lockdown, council business was restricted to an executive-sub committee of policy and resources.

But the normal committees cycle has now resumed, with education, environment and regeneration and health and social care all taking place.

The plan is now to record these and put them on the council website as a matter of public record.
