A NEW eco project in Inverclyde hopes to create a new generation of rangers to protect the river.

Belville Community Gardens have launched their latest children's activity club which is going online.

Organiser Sally Clough said: "I hope we will be inspiring the next generation to protect the river, its tributaries and all the natural wildlife and habitat.

"It was supposed to be a club where everyone meets up, but for now we are doing it online."

The River Clyde Rangers is open to 60 youngsters to start with.

It follows on from the hugely successful Foragers clubs in the Belville Community Gardens.
