Waverley Street incident
TWO paramedics came under attack as they attended a 999 call in Greenock.
Police were called to Waverley Street at 4pm on Thursday after the ambulance crew raised the alarm.
Officers say the paramedics were treating a burly man when he suddenly lashed out and hit one paramedic with a crutch and threw another over a couch.
A number of officers rushed to the scene to restrain and then arrest a 39-year-old.
He now faces prosecution.
